Main description:

Fantastic opportunity to join RS Components, a digital global leader in the distribution of electronic and industrial products, as an Electrical Engineering Apprentice at their base in Nuneaton.

This is a 4 year apprenticeship resulting in a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering.

The first year will be spent at Midland Group Training Services (MGTS) in Coventry learning core practical and theoretical elements of the role.

For the following years, apprentices will attend MGTS on a day release basis to complete the necessary educational requirements for the programme.

Skills you'll develop include:

• Wiring and Testing Programmable Controller Based Systems
• Wiring and Testing Electrical Equipment and Circuits
• Maintaining Electrical Equipment/Systems
• Maintaining Mechanical Devices and Equipment
• Maintaining Fluid Power Systems
• Producing Components using Hand Fitting Techniques

Responsibilities and Duties will Include:

• Reading and understanding wiring diagrams
• Carrying out electrical testing
• Fault finding
• Working efficiently to manufacturing time scales
• Working to electrical engineering drawings
• Using of hand held tools
• Conforming at all times to health & safety practice
• Work with MGTS external assessor to produce workplace assessment training plans
• Attend lectures, practicals and visits as per training provider learning plan

Entry requirements:

You will have (or be expected to achieve) at least 5 GCSEs with English Language, Maths and Science at grade A*-C / 9-5.

• The first year of training is at Midland Group Training Services in Coventry
• Monday to Thursday 08:00 16:00, Friday 08:00 12:00.

Future Prospects:

• Upon successful completion of the four year programme, an individual assessment will be carried out by R S Components to determine whether a full time position will be offered
