    **Premier Group: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Role**

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Hampshire area on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have strong leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.

    About the Role:

    • Lead a cross-functional team of Design and Manufacturing Engineers to design and develop bespoke machinery
    • Use SolidWorks software for design on a day-to-day basis
    • Conduct research, hand calculations, FEA, testing, and prototyping to ensure product integrity
    • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to production
    • Create models/prototypes and maintain technical drawings and documentation
    • Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications
    • Collaborate with different departments to ensure smooth project delivery
    • Provide technical guidance and support
    • Support product Testing, Verification & Validation
    • Support more junior members of the team

    Requirements:

    • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design / New Product Development position
    • Experience leading teams, managing people or having direct reports
    • Excellent practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototyping
    • Strong 3D CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks or Inventor
    • Hands-on industry experience working in a similar design role within a machine shop / workshop / manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of machinery operations and electrical/electronic products
    • Degree / ONC / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • Experienced designing products from concept to production
    • Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
    • Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
    • Innovative, accurate, and passionate about design
    • Technically minded with a head for problem-solving
    • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
    • Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
