Purpose of the Role:


The Finance Team at Birketts is expanding its core team We are now recruiting for a newly created position - a Finance Systems Assistant to come and join us in Ipswich.


Together, as a collaborative firm, we have close to 1000 people working with us across our 5 locations and we are ranked highly in the Legal 500 across all areas we practice in.

The role is to to work as part of the Finance team assisting in providing an efficient and accurate service to the firm.


Key accountabilities will include:


  • Review & approve third party payers
  • Process split bills and maintain in Expert
  • Set up and maintain rate sets in Expert
  • Assist with personnel and supplier set up and changes in Expert
  • Review various monthly reports
  • Ad hoc queries from Accounts/Finance and fee earning teams
  • Assist with Expert project work development and testing
  • Assist & support fee earning teams with ledger housekeeping
  • Provide support to other team members with duties as required.
  • Other administrative duties as required.
  • Ensuring that own knowledge and skills are kept uptodate, requesting training where necessary.
Ideally we are seeking an assistant who has an aptitude to work with numbers.

Full training will be given and no prior experience in accounts and finance is required, just a passion to get into this line of work.


If you have strong IT skills, including Word and Excel, good organisation and administrative skills with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise this could be the role for you.
