The Company:

Vessco Engineering Limited is an ambitious and fast-growing manufacturer of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and fabricated equipment. Recently Vessco Engineering Ltd joined the LTi Metaltech Group, a €130m European Engineering Group.

We are seeking anexperienced design engineer to undertake mechanical calculations and drawings of pressure vessels / tanks / heat exchangers and structural components.


The Role:


The design engineer would form part of the Vessco engineering team and would be working on jobs ranging in value and size from a few thousand pounds up to a million pounds.

The essence of the job is to ensure that the customers' design requirements and regulatorycodes are correctly interpreted and produce sound engineering designs that would be sent to the client for review and then issued to the shop floor for manufacture.


The day-to-day tasks would include:


  • Prepare key documentation such as manufacturing drawings in 2D using software such as AutoCAD.
  • Use a combination of specialist pressure vessel design software (such as Finglow) and manual calculation sheets to produce mechanical calculations.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials to hand over to the engineering team for purchasing.
  • Coordinate and liaise with the engineering team and client's with regards to design information and design reviews.
  • Knowledge designing Process Equipment / Pressure Vessels / Heat Exchangers is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years design engineering experience.
  • Experience using pressure vessel design software, preferably Finglow (or other software such as PV Elite)
  • AutoCAD experience in 2D is essential. Designing in 3D is also preferable.
  • Experience working with designing to ASME/PD5500/EN13445 pressure vessel codes
  • Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as a design method is preferable.
