We have a new opportunity within Trewithen Dairy - we are recruiting for a Production Planner.

The Production Planner role is directly linked to Production and its daily activities. The role supports the procurement and control of raw materials, packaging, and finished stock to the optimum levels.

Working with figures to create production forecasts and closely working with Production to adjust the plan when required are examples of some of the tasks involved.


Main duties:

  • Develop and execute production schedules in alignment with demand forecasts, considering factors such as raw material availability, equipment capacity, and production deadlines.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, prevent shortages or overages, and minimize waste, including off site storage.
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to coordinate activities, address issues, and ensure seamless workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline workflows.
  • Facilitate clear communication between various departments, providing updates on production schedules, inventory levels, and potential challenges.
  • Respond to changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances by adjusting production plans and schedules accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and performance metrics, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Someone with attention to detail
  • Advanced excel skills and data interpretation
  • Excellent IT skills, including, Microsoft SharePoint, and its suite of apps
  • Able to work alone and make decisions, as well as having a strong team work ethic
  • Experienced in planning an advantage, although this is not essential
