Job Title:
Fabricator/ Welder

Shift Patten:
Permanent Days 7.45am - 4.15pm (7.45am - 3.15pm on Friday) - 39 hours.

Reporting to:
Shop Floor Foreman

Please give expected hourly rate of pay when applying.

Job Duties:

Fabrication and welding of Cable winding machine frames from initial stages of subassembly trough to final fabrication of machines.
Parts arrive precut and are welded and assembled to drawings
Checking components to ensure they meet the specifications of the drawings
Cutting and drilling of components required to facilitate fabrication
Carry out all fabrication work in accordance with drawings provided and methods determined by the Shop Floor Foreman ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the necessary specifications
Selfinspection of work, notifying Shop Floor Foreman of any potential noncompliance
Use of MIG welding equipment, cutting equipment, saws, drilling machines and small hand tools to produce quality fabrications to tight tolerances.
Fabrication of small assemblies and guards as required.
Identifying any problems or discrepancies and reporting to Shop Floor Foreman.
Ensure time is recorded accurately on daily Timesheets and HAV's readings are correctly recorded
A minimum 5 years experience as a fabricator welder.
A robust knowledge of fabrication process.
Confident ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Methodical approach to problem solving.
Good communication skills.
