About The Team & Role

Gloucester City Council has ambitious cultural plans and with investment from the Arts Council England for Gloucester Guildhall as it joins the National Portfolio (NPO) there's never been a more exciting time to join the Culture team.

This new, exciting role is offered on a 3-year fixed term contract in-line with Arts Council England funding.

The Production Lead will play a pivotal role in the smooth delivery of the Gloucester Guildhall live and digital programme.

Liaising with the wider Guildhall team, tour production managers, other venues, artists and technicians, you'll manage a small team (including freelancers) responsible for the technical delivery of productions taking place in Gloucester Guildhall.

These will vary from live music and comedy through to dance, circus, digital, live screening, cinema as well as productions combining multiple art forms.

In addition, you'll be taking Guildhall productions out and around the city, setting up events for audiences of over 1,000+ people indoors and out.

About You
You will be a great people person, able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people alike.

You'll have a passion for live events production and be quick to understand the needs of artists and companies in both a technical production point of view, down to understanding everything required to make a show or residency run smoothly.

You will care about the quality of events and be great at finding and negotiating solutions from a range of different people.

You will be on an annualised hours contract to meet the needs to the live events industry, which means that you will work to the cultural programme.

When managing the outdoor events, you will need to be present to ensure the smooth running of each show. In return, you'll be offered a positive, flexible working environment and conditions and join a passionate and committed team.

You will receive the following:
Flexible and agile working opportunities

24 days annual leave

An option to purchase 10 days of additional leave per year (pro rate for part-time staff)

Family friendly employer offering benefits to help support you and your family

Career development and qualification opportunities

Supportive and positive working environment

Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.

How to Apply
