Why a Laboratory Based Degree Apprenticeship?:

The Expro Fluid Analysis Centre (FAC) is a world renowned technical centre specialising in the physical and chemical analysis of high pressure oil and gas samples.

We work with our global clients to maximise oil and gas resources through understanding thermodynamic phase behaviour. The FAC provides data to drive efficiency improvements, contributing to the de-carbonisation of the industry. This is championed by our organisation through its target to reach net zero Carbon Emissions by 2050.

  • Estimated 1618 hours study per week over 6 years
  • Work 3.5 days per week at the laboratory learning practical skills
  • 1.5 days per week day release to study (on site or at home)
  • A bursary to cover all tuition fees.
  • Continual academic and performance review
Working 3.5 days per week at the laboratory learning practical skills, you will have the opportunity to

  • Conduct Analytical or Physical experiments in a safe and efficient manner according to specified methods laid out in the laboratory Work Instructions
  • Interpret laboratory data by use of appropriate software packages and calculation methods; record all such calculations and methods of working in laboratory work files (annotated as necessary for later review) and prepare the results in a format suitable for presentation to clients.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and conduct repairs on laboratory equipment as required
Estimated 16-18 hours study per week over 6 years
