We are currently seeking a highly motivated researcher with strong public engagement and communication skills to support Bath Spa University's research environment and culture.

This will include the development a framework and toolkit for external research engagement that can be adopted across the University and working with colleagues to showcase our research excellence.


(This is a 6 month fixed term contract, beginning in March 2024-August 2024)

About the Role:


As a postdoctoral Research Assistant, you will manage and co-ordinate the University's wide activities such as professorial lectures and the annual research festival.


You will work with staff across the university to develop a public management toolkit, always sharing good practice; supporting an internally funded public engagement programme of activities and events; co-ordinating a range of mixed-media research showcases that can be used for a range of promotional purposes.


In addition, you will also have the opportunity to develop their own research interests and work with the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research & Enterprise) on strategic research projects and activities.


About You:


You will have a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline aligned to the University's research strengths, and experience of organising research impact and public engagement events and activities.

You will possess excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills, along with a knowledge of ethical issues relating to public engagement and participatory research practice is highly desirable.
