Job Purpose


The role holder will work with the Communications and Engagement team and wider business as part of the People Strategy function to develop and lead delivery of our Blueprint narrative and campaigns that engage colleague's hearts and minds in our purpose,strategy, and business plan.

What you'll do

  • Plays a vital part in shaping and developing the strategic communications narrative for our colleagues which is aligned with business objectives and strategy and brings this to life for our colleagues; develops communications and content working alongsidethe immediate team, our Executive team and Senior Leaders to ensure this is implemented in collaboration with colleagues across our business.
  • Leads, manages and coaches the wider team as required, with line management of one Communications Executive. Manage, coach, develop and motivate a team of communication professionals in order to optimise the performance of the team in line with the Divisionsobjectives. Responsible for reviewing the output of colleagues, providing feedback, coaching and mentoring to support their development.
  • Develop the skills and knowledge of team members so that they have the expertise to achieve the business requirements, as well as maximising individual development.
  • Acts as Head of Communications deputy, attending senior leadership meetings, collaborating across the people strategy team and other furnctions. Partnering with members of our executive team on communications campaigns

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • This is a Senior role requiring an individual with demonstrable experience in devising and executing impactful colleague communications and engagement programmes. A proven track record in devising communications plans, collaborating across teams crossbusinessand playing an influential role in driving change.
  • The role holder must be strong, resilient and have a broad outlook. Hunger to grow, learn, develop to keep our team and impact moving forward with the capability to cut through complexity and convey messages clearly.
  • Proven track record of achieving success in change and transformation environments
  • Strong leadership skills, creative flair and ability to think outside of the box, research and inspire best practice thinking and use insight to measure impact and success.
  • Job delivery timescales: Mix of immediate and longerterm delivery requirements as part of the wider communications strategy
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment, tailored for all levels of management, including Board level.
  • Strong ability to adapt messages to the audience, without prompting or significant coaching, in a format that is easily understood by colleagues, with a clear narrative and the ability to win hearts and minds
  • Strong influencing skills, with experience of engaging with Boards and senior management in order to get desired outcome

Qualifications
Educated to at least A level or equivalent
