The Role:
To efficiently plan ensuring the most efficient use of vehicles and drivers whilst taking account of the relevant legislation. All related information must be accurately recorded onto company and other IT systems.
Remuneration & Hours:
- Monday night to Saturday morning, 45 hours per week.
- 28 days holiday entitlement, including bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring efficient utilisation of vehicles, drivers and other resources while taking account of WTR and Drivers Hours Rules, vehicle weights and dimension and the Road Traffic Act.
- Work with night 1st Line manager as required throughout shift, flag any issues that need escalated.
- Liaise with Longtown depot throughout the night as required.
- Communicate with night drivers as required.
- Work with colleagues to monitor / push trunking operation through hub and deal with any issues that arise.
- Monitor & Update relevant systems throughout night.
- Complete relevant traffic reports through night.
- Work with other WMA departments, Palletforce Members and Network.
- Promote good practice.
- Report any accidents / incidents to 1st Line Manager
- You must comply with and promote all health and safety rules and regulations regarding the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Promote Wm. Armstrong in line with current company values, beliefs and branding.
- Undertake such other duties that are required from time to time commensurate with this position.
Skills/Knowledge
- Previous experience in high volume traffic planning is essential
- Good geographical knowledge of G / ML postcode area
- Previous Pallet Network experience advantageous
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft packages
- Good administration skills, with high attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
