Position Overview:


The Senior Administrator - Discretionary & Governance plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the discretionary investment portfolios and governance processes within the organization.

This position requires a deep understanding of investment management principles, risk management, and compliance requirements.

The Senior Administrator will work closely with investment professionals, compliance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of discretionary investment strategies and adherence to governance standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Discretionary Portfolio Management:


  • Assist in the development and implementation of discretionary investment strategies in collaboration with portfolio managers and investment analysts.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, conducting periodic reviews to ensure alignment with investment objectives and risk tolerance.

Trade Execution and Compliance:


  • Execute trades and ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions for discretionary portfolios.
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and investment mandates when executing trades to maintain compliance.

Risk Management:


  • Identify, assess, and mitigate investmentrelated risks to protect the integrity of the portfolios and safeguard client interests.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to establish risk controls and contingency plans.

Governance and Compliance:


  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance frameworks and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on compliance metrics, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise.

Client Communication and Reporting:


  • Provide regular updates and reports to clients and stakeholders on portfolio performance, investment decisions, and any changes to the investment strategy.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns regarding discretionary portfolios and governance matters.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:


  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of investment decisions, trade executions, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure that all activities related to discretionary portfolios and governance are welldocumented and easily accessible.

Team Leadership and Training:


  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring a high level of performance.
  • Conduct training sessions to keep the team updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.

Continuous Improvement:


  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within discretionary portfolio management and governance processes.
  • Implement enhancements to optimize workflows and increase productivity.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in discretionary portfolio management and governance within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of investment management principles, financial markets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with investment analytics and risk management techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for portfolio management and reporting.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor team members effectively.
  • A track record of maintaining high ethical standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Salary:
£26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
