NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.

We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.


This is a fixed term position until the end of December 2023 with the hope of an extension of this period.

The shift pattern for this position is working Hours within Mon-Fri 9am-5pm to be agreed on appointment.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.8 WTE Band 3 Peer Support Worker to join a new NIHR-funded clinical trial: RAPID (Remote Approaches to Psychosocial Intervention Delivery).

The trial will test the effectiveness of different psychological interventions to reduce suicidal ideation in patients attending Crisis Response and Home Treatment Teams (CRHTT).

You'll deliver one trial intervention (PREVAIL) in line with the treatment manual and study protocol, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist/ psychological therapist.


The post holder will bring their lived experience of recovery from mental health problems, experience of being in a supportive and enabling role and an understanding of mental health recovery and the elements which help and hinder the process.

Patients are likely to have diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and related diagnoses.


You'll require the ability to travel between sites within NHS GG&C; this post requires a valid driving licence and access to own or other independent means of transport, and flexibility to work some irregular hours occasionally to fit with participant availability.
