The Catch Up Academy is hiring
We are looking for a Tutor to support a Year 11 student on a 1:1 basis. The student is awaiting and Autism diagnosis, has SEMH needs and currently only attends school part time.


Sessions will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Mondays and Thursdays at the student's home address based in TN16.

Sessions will be held at the school in South Norwood on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

For consistency the student requires a tutor who can deliver tuition at both locations on the days/times detailed.

This is a part-time position, working approximately 6 hours per week. We are able to offer other roles in this area, working with students with similar needs.


As an NTP Tutor you will have the following responsibilities: -

  • Deliver core curriculum tuition either online or facetoface in schools to children who need extra support to 'catch up'.
  • Assess and adapt your teaching style according to the student's current abilities.
  • Liaising with the class teachers to plan and prepare lessons and objectives that are tailored to individual child/children over the course of the tuition programme.
  • Be flexible and committed to the hours required.

Qualifications:


  • Qualified Teacher (QTS), degree or other relevant qualification/experience
  • Have a clear understanding of the UK curriculum
  • Confident behaviour management
  • Availability during regular school hours
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problemsolving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle difficult student situations and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents and teachers

Job Type:

Part-time hours: 6 per week


Salary:
£25.00-£32.00 per hour
