Join us as a Financial Crime Project Lead

  • In your new role, you'll oversee adherence to our organisation's global financial crime standards
  • We'll look to you to build relationships with the business, delivering advice on transactions, customers or situations that involve financial crime matters
  • You'll drive the development and implementation of risk and control mechanisms for the business to use to discharge its responsibilities, independently overseeing and challenging the effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites
  • This role is available either full time or as a job share opportunity which means you and another colleague will share the duties of one full time job, with each of you working part time hours on a pro rata basis

What you'll do:


As a Financial Crime Project Lead, you'll lead a team which is accountable for overseeing that the business strategy is compliant with the financial crime policy, external laws, and regulations to prevent money laundering, breaches of sanctions, terrorism financing, bribery, and corruption within our franchises.


You'll also be:

  • Developing operational objectives for the team and clearly articulating these in our operational plan through specific actions and timeframes for execution and implementation
  • Making sure our business addresses financial crime risk concerns within the management of customers, geographic and product portfolio Iife cycles, while undertaking robust remediation of known risks
  • Managing the headcount resourcing and budget for the team in a costeffective manner
  • Working collaboratively with other business units and functional leadership teams to effectively manage financial crime risk
  • Advocating the simplification of processes and procedures to support a right firsttime culture
  • Establishing and documenting operating procedures, including relevant controls to meet policy requirements

The skills you'll need:


To be successful in this role, you'll need technical expertise and a deep understanding of relevant political and legislative developments across the financial industry.

You'll have a robust and broad understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management principles.

Relevant technical qualifications in AML, ABC or STF compliance would also be advantageous.


In addition, you'll need:

  • Technical knowledge to guide and influence business representatives
  • Experience of diverse, multijurisdictional functions
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment, divisional frameworks, and methodologies
