About the role:


One of our Procurement Partners is heading off on maternity leave soon, and we are looking for an experienced Procurement professional to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover this period of leave.

The team has gone through a period of significant change, with a new 5-year procurement strategy, and the implementation of a new partnership approach to procurement.

In this key role, you will support the Head of Procurement and Procurement Lead with strategic procurement, whilst also actively providing help, support and guidance to the business.

As part of this role, you will be required to mentor and develop junior positions.


This role has a diverse portfolio, although the procurement team is all expected to be agile to cope with a varied workload.

You are likely to oversee the procurement of some group-wide contracts, operational contracts and service contracts relating to IT, HR, and repairs property maintenance.

In addition to procurement activity, there will be a requirement to hold regular partnership meetings with the business, undertake appropriate market analysis and create sourcing strategies.

Value in its broadest sense will be essential, not purely focusing on cost, but also social and environmental considerations.

What we are looking for:


You will have demonstrable experience with complex procurement projects that include successfully running tenders from start to finish from both a technical and commercial aspect across IT, HR and property maintenance.

Knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations 2015 is desirable.


You will also have the ability and experience to build and nurture positive internal relationships with senior management, key users, business stakeholders and suppliers.


Ideally, you will be educated to CIPS level 6 (Graduate Diploma), or actively working towards (or equivalent qualification) - desirable.

It's desirable that you hold line manager experience, however not essential.
