Our Systems Accountant role is critical to the ownership of all of our key finance systems used by the MS Society.

**Systems Accountant (Finance)

Type**:
Full-time (35 hours per week), permanent

Location:
Office-based in London, N4 with flexibility to work remotely

Salary:
£48,233 - £52,961 per annum plus excellent benefits


Salary Band:
Band G3

About this job


The Systems Accountant has responsibility for the maintaining, developing and control of the systems to ensure they remain efficient and meet all of the MS Society's needs whilst maintaining robust internal controls.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Working with our Financial Controller, ensure system permissions are in line with delegated authorities and approval limits and ensure segregation of duties
  • Test internal processes and procedures to ensure they work as documented
  • Overseeing, managing, reviewing and challenging all appropriate financial and nonfinancial systems proactively looking efficiencies.
  • Working with our Financial Controller on reviews of processes within finance, specifically seeing how systems can be used to drive efficiency.
  • Providing training to finance, budget holders and others in the wider organisation who need to use finance systems
  • Supporting ICT project teams to implement new, and update existing, finance systems
  • Working with the ICT team to provide a consistent and approachable point of contact for stakeholders on finance system issues.

For this role, we're looking for:

  • Part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Advanced user of Excel and other Microsoft office products.
  • Solid understanding and experience of Financial Accounting and Management reporting
  • Can demonstrate experience of at least one of the following:
a. Experience of using Dynamics GP - been involved in the development of the system in previous organisations they have worked in
and/or
b. Can demonstrate considerable experience in developing other mid-range accounting systems with similar sized organisations.

  • Experience of using/maintaining power BI
  • Use of Power Platform
  • Knowledge of basic web languages including HMTL5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Understanding of WebAPI, the fetchXML and OData expressions
