We are a well established garden maintenance company who have been running for over 20 years. We maintain contemporary gardens, communal residential gardens, London squares, topiary hedges, herbaceous borders, containerised roof gardens, greenhouses and Watergardens.

We are looking for a experienced gardener to join our friendly close-knit garden maintenance team based on a static site in the Paddington area.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about plants and nature with an understanding and sensitivity for organic gardening and wildlife.

Ideally, you will have a good knowledge of horticultural practice and a desire to learn and develop within the role.

Showing initiative is encouraged whilst working as a team or on your own.

This job requires a flexible approach and willingness to help where possible.

A polite friendly manner is expected when engaging with clients, residents, porters and contractors across the sites.

Winter hours

• Monday to Friday

: 8am to 4pm (1hr breaks)

Summer hours

• Monday to Friday

8:30am to 4:30pm (1hr breaks)

28 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)

8 days paid sick leave (pro rata)

• Clean driver's license (desirable but not essential)

Responsibilities:

• Perform general garden maintenance tasks such as planting, watering, and pruning.
• Maintain and care for existing landscapes, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and weeding flower beds.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure correct watering of plants.
• Planting of autumn and spring annuals and bulbs.
• An understanding of machinery operation and tool use.
• Assist in the implementation of new landscape projects.
• Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases that may affect the garden.
• Ensure all company health and safety procedures and policies are adhered to.
• Keep gardens clean and free of litter.

Skills:

• Previous experience required along with a strong knowledge of garden maintenance techniques and practices. (2 years minimum experience in similar role)
• Ability to identify plants throughout the garden and their care requirements.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure the gardens are wellmaintained.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks in various weather conditions.
