We are excited to be recruiting three skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Social Workers to join our Adoption Service in Durham:
2 X Full time (37 hours) permanent posts
1 X Part-time (18.5 hours) permanent post
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to delivering high-quality adoption practice within a service that truly values relationship-based social work, creativity, and reflective practice.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As a Social Worker in our adoption team, you will:
- Deliver high-quality assessments of prospective adopters
- Support children through their adoption journey with sensitivity, skill and compassion
- Work closely with families to provide robust support pre- and post-placement
- Contribute to permanency planning and multi-agency working
- Bring fresh ideas, professional curiosity and a commitment to best practice
Our service is committed to traumai nformed approaches and meaningful direct work with children. You will be supported by experienced managers, strong peer networks, and opportunities for professional development.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
Wed love to hear from you if you:
- Are a qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)
- Have experience in childrens social care (adoption or permanence experience is an advantage but not essential)
- Are passionate about improving outcomes for children
- Have strong assessment, communication and relationship-building skills
- Work well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
