We are looking to recruit a full-time band 7 CAMHS Specialist for a 1 year fixed term contract to offer supervision and support the leadership of the Lambeth Child and Youth Wellbeing (CWP) team.


You will work alongside a more experienced supervisor and service development lead to support and supervise Children's Well Being Practitioners (CWPs) who will offer mental health/emotional wellbeing support to children and young people who would not normally reach threshold for CAMHs services.

This is part of a broader government initiative to increase mental health and emotional well-being support to children and young people.


The post-holder will contribute to the management and supervision of four qualified CWPs who are trained to offer high-quality, brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The post-holder will support the CWPs in their professional development through clinical supervision and gain experience in developing and evaluating a service under the guidance of senior staff.

The post-holder will support the delivery of workshops and groups.

The postholder will also spend 40% of their time in the Spring Team in Lambeth CAMHS.

Practitioners offer a higher level of input, for more complex assessment and intervention but still within the Early Help remit.

Spring Team offer short term interventions for those with first presentation, low risk mental health and behavioural difficulties.


This post will suit a CAMHS clinician with a strong interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and some experience in clinical supervision who is trained in Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Social Work, art therapy, drama therapy, occupational therapy or Nursing.

Lambeth is an inner city, ethnically diverse community.

Applicants will have an interest in and understanding of diversity issues and how they link to mental health in children and young people.


Lambeth is the largest London borough with a population of more than 26,600, of which 34% of the population are from ethnic minorities.& approximately 132 languages are spoken in the borough.

There are established Caribbean & Irish communities with newer populations of West African, Portuguese& South American residents. Unemployment at 18% is amongst the highest

Lambeth CAMHS employs staff from a variety of disciplines, including child psychology,

psychiatry, nursing, psychotherapy & family therapy. The service is organised into three

sections & delivered from a number of community & hospital sites across the borough.

Teamsinclude a generic multidisciplinary Tier 3 services, for Children and Adolescents, as well as a number of specialist teams & services including Youth Offending Team, Children Looked After,Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) and the Neurodevelopmental Team.

There is also an Early Intervention Service.
