HRLife are working with a growing consultancy business to find a talented Senior HR generalist who enjoys partnering with clients to provide advice and guidance, support stakeholders to make the right decisions and resolve ER issues, TUPEs, redundancies,terminations of employment, performance meetings, maternity/paternity queries, support with talent management, succession planning, sickness absence etc.


You will be given your own portfolio of clients to look after so building great relationships is key and you'll be actively supporting and developing the more junior members of the team.

You will be responsible for building credible relationships and establishingyourself with senior leadership teams and business leaders to become their 'go to' HR person; contributing to the development and roll out of their HR strategy, leading projects, and participating in leadership meetings.

Additional responsibilities will include;

  • Assisting clients in recruitment, selection and onboarding processes as required, either by providing interview guidelines and coaching or by actively participating in the process on behalf of the client
  • In collaboration with the wider HR team, provide support and advice across a number of HR disciplines including employee engagement, HR strategy, learning and development, talent and performance management, organisational design and change management
  • Carry out ad hoc projects for clients including reviewing onboarding processes, job description and benchmarking exercises, wellbeing and engagement initiatives, emotional intelligence profiling, appraisal and performance management system development,staff communications, compliance research, equality and diversity initiatives, training programmes and other ad hoc projects as required.
  • Deliver onsite training for clients on a range of key topics, including the onboarding process, HR systems, engagement, disciplinary process, performance management and managing absence.
  • Proactively use Breathe (or client's own HR system, if appropriate) to maintain uptodate employee records and report on appropriate management information and trends to clients on a regular basis and recommend relevant interventions/support
  • With the assistance of the HR Advisors and other more junior members of the team, record and manage client employee data to ensure managers are aware of probationary period expiry dates, performance management review dates, maternity leave dates, levelsof employee sickness absence, visa expiry dates, DBS and driving licence checks, as well as additional asylum and immigration checks as required
  • With assistance of the HR advisors and other more junior member of the team, updating and maintaining payroll records for clients and liaise with client Finance teams regularly to support with payroll administration
  • Preparing, maintaining and updating employment contracts, offer letters, absence related documents, probation period review letters, disciplinary and grievance documentation, restructures and redundancy documentation, policies, procedures and handbooksmaking recommendations for improvements across client groups ensuring all documentation is accurate and legally compliant
Whilst you won't be responsible for any business development or sales in this role you may be asked to support when presenting to new clients - attending the first introduction meeting, understanding client needs, identifying industry trends, market dataand the support the preparation of proposal documents


You will have up to date UK employment law knowledge, have experience of working in commercial businesses and be looking for a broad generalist HR role where you can have impact, add value and be integral to decisions and driving business conversations forward.

Based Hampshire/Surrey/Berkshire border - hybrid working with very occasional travel.

Salary 50-60k plus bonus opportunity
