The Role


HEAD OF DEPARTMENT (ADVENTURE)


Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education.

We run our own prestigious and well-established Summer School for children aged 8-16 from approximately 40 nationalities.

Each year we create a vibrant international community where our staff play a critical role in creating a happy and formative summer experience for our students.


We are looking for a Head of Department (Adventure) to oversee the on-campus adventure elements of the course, developing and delivering a fun and exciting programme that makes the most of our excellent facilities and extensive campus.

You will lead a team of indoor and outdoor adventure staff, utilising the experiences and qualifications available within the team to provide a broad and varied offer for our students.

Applicants must have significant and relevant breadth of outdoor education/adventure experience and qualifications. Experience of working in an educational, boarding or summer school environment is also required. A teaching qualification is desirable.


Summer School operates two courses and the Head of Department (Adventure) is required to be available for the full duration.


2024 dates, including mandatory induction, are:
Tues 2nd July - Mon 5th August

Residential position with full board. Competitive Salary.
