Cardiff Galvanizers & Galvablast is a well-established, family-run business with a proud history of over 54 years in the metal protective coatings industry. As the last independent galvanizer in Wales, our expertise lies in "hot dip" galvanizing, a process that ensures metalwork is protected from corrosion, extending its lifespan and enhancing durability.

In 1995, we introduced Galvablast to enhance our services, offering customers a comprehensive solution to protective coatings, including powder coating, wet paint systems, shot blasting, and thermal metal spraying.

Additionally, we provide collection and delivery services to our customers across the UK using our fleet of HGVs, ensuring nationwide coverage.

About the Role:

£11.44 per hour, plus additional payments for individual performance, overtime, and department bonus.

Shift pattern:

Week 1: 8 am 16:45 pm (plus overtime where available)
Week 2: 7am 15:45 pm (plus overtime where available)
Key Responsibilities:_
Perform fettling tasks using angle grinders to prepare metal parts for powder coating.
Inspect workpieces before and after fettling to ensure they meet quality standards.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Adhere to safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a clean and organised work area to facilitate efficient operations.
Record relevant data, including production quantities and any issues encountered during the fettling process.
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Proficiency in using angle grinders and other hand tools for surface preparation tasks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing highquality work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with colleagues and supervisors.
Willingness to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
