The Product Principal leads product development across BT Group, ensuring the implementation and maximal impact of company product strategies, contributing to the vision, product management, user experience (UX), software engineering, and analysis across multiple product lines.
What you'll be doing
- Leads the implementation of product management vision and strategy through a customer driven view of technical product capability needs through customer feedback, market research and analysis, and competitive product understanding.
- Operates as an SME in product innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap), and design of entirely new products to deliver against team and BT Group goals. Ensures stakeholder priorities are aligned with resources ensuring cadence with customer value, business value, and strategic fit.
- Develops formal and detailed business case projections ahead of new functionality releases,and continued monitoring after release.
- Advises thought leadership through ongoing analysis of product capability themes and leading industry knowledge.
- Identifies and reports risks driving resolution and mitigation.
- Leads projects collaborating across disciplines with engineers, data scientists, researchers, and UX designers to fulfil the product backlog using Scrum/ Agile methodologies and deliver these experiences in a way that delights users and increases product engagement.
- Leads the development and writing of comprehensive product requirements to instrument new tracking events, build data tools, pipelines, analytic dashboards and visualisations.
- Ensures product compliance and awareness with local regulations and inputs where appropriate.
- Leads the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve product management processes.
- Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
