THE ROLE _(how the position fits in the organisation)_


As a Stores Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People tactical operations of our storage facility.

You will lead a team of dedicated storekeepers and ensure the efficient organisation, handling, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and products.

This role is crucial to maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting manufacturing functions for the consistent smooth flow of operations within the company to meet on time delivery for our customers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES _(core responsibilities, activities)_

  • Supervise and lead Stores, providing guidance, mentorship, and direction to the team.
  • Monitor performance, conduct regular team & 1:1 meetings, and facilitate training as needed to ensure an engaged, flexible and high performing team.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Drive root cause corrective actions for any nonconformances and stock discrepancies.
  • Oversee the receiving and inspection of incoming materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards, collaborating with Procurement to ensure any supplier issues are addressed efficiently.
  • Coordinate with various departments for timely dispatch of materials.
  • Ensure that goods are organized, handled and stored appropriately to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Implement best practices for optimal space utilisation.
  • Maintain records of transactions and track stock levels.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Identify and address any potential hazards in the storage area.
  • Look for opportunities to continuously improve processes (Continuous Improvement).
  • Deputisation for manager (as required).
