We have an exciting opportunity for a Manual Handling lead to join our dynamic education team.

This is your chance to make a difference and shape future delivery of both the manual handling training provision and the advisory service at East Cheshire NHS Trust.

The present job holder is retiring, and we are seeking an innovative person to lead and reshape the trusts manual handling service

You will be the designated lead for Manual Handling and employee back care matters, providing competent advice, support, and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff on legal requirements and best practice to ensure the Trust meets its obligations, across acute and community settings.


You will be responsible for the design, planning, development, and delivery of a dynamic and comprehensive multi-professional manual handling education programme, which meets the ever-changing needs of the trust.


You will lead the delivery of development initiatives, play a key part in relevant service improvements, steering and professional groups and be integral to the continual review and improvement of systems and policies, in line with National Guidance and local need.


You will be responsible for providing an advisory service to managers and employees on manual handling and work with colleagues in Occupational Health and Employee Wellbeing to address back care issues.


The postholder is the designated lead on Manual Handling and employee back care matters, providing competent advice, support, and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff on legal requirements and best practice to ensure the Trust meets its obligations, across acute and community settings.


They are responsible for the design, planning, development, and delivery of a dynamic and comprehensive manual handling training programme to all staff groups, which meets the ever-changing needs of the trust.

The post holder will lead the delivery of development initiatives, play a key part in relevant steering and professional groups and the continual review and improvement of systems and policies, in line with National Guidance and local need.

They are responsible for providing an advisory service to managers and employees on moving and handling and work with colleagues in OH and Employee Wellbeing to address back care issues.
