Description

Our client is international law firm with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

They provide a full range of international arbitration and dispute resolution, investigations and criminal litigation, financial services enforcement, and intellectualproperty litigation.

They are now looking to hire a Head of Finance.

This role will be working closely with the Partners, to provide full management of the Firm's finance function, supporting the UK and German arms of the business.

Responsibilities

Management of the Firm's finance function and finance team (x4), proactively reviewing team operations and performance
Management of the Firm's finance and accounting systems, proactively reviewing the Firm's systems ensuring accuracy and efficiency
All financial record keeping
All financial reporting within the Firm's business structure, including partnership accounting; analysis and advice
Monthly management accounts; analysis and advice
Preparation of annual budgets, financial planning and cashflow forecasting
Providing professional guidance to the Firm's business owners
Liaising with group companies in Germany and China, providing assistance with any reporting requirements and tax submissions
Carrying out treasury management functions, managing overseas payments and UK deposits
Working with external accountants and other external advisors
Conducting ad hoc reviews of any area of particular concern to the Firm that may be impacting upon profitability
Qualified Chartered Accountant
Significant experience in an accounting role
Significant experience working with financial and accounting systems
Relevant experience managing a team / managing people
Experience working with partnerships is essential
Experience working in the IP sector would be advantageous, but not essential
Knowledge of German professional practice accounting would be advantageous, but not essential.
