The Secure Care CBU have a number of exciting opportunities for Nursing Associates to join teams across a number of Secure Care wards based at Northgate Park, Morpeth.


This is an exciting time to join our services as Sycamore, a new-build, state-of-the-art integrated Adult Mental Health and Learning Disability secure service 'centre of excellence' at Northgate Park, is expected to open in mid -July this year.

This move will bring all Secure Adult Mental Health secure services together on onsite, alongside our current services Tweed Low Secure /Rehabilitation, Tyne Learning Disabilities and Tyne Adult Mental Health Low Secure.

The Nursing Associate is a Nursing and Midwifery (NMC) registered professional with accountability and responsibility for their practice, evidence based decision making, working within the limits of their competence

The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within all aspects of the nursing process.

Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours consistent with CNTW values.


They will understand and act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviours for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates and fulfil all registration requirements.

They will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

To comply with the NMC Standards of Proficiency for Nursing Associates (October 2018) which relates to the following platforms

  • Being an accountable professional
  • Promoting health and preventing ill health
  • Provide and monitor care
  • Working in teams
  • Improving safety and quality of care
  • Contributing to integrated care Communication and relationship management skills Specific procedures as listed


They will ensure that the care they deliver is compassionate, competent, and courageous underpinned by a commitment to high standards and effective communication.
