Are you a driven and talented major gifts fundraiser looking to step into a new role with real variety in higher education.

Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a full-time, Philanthropy Officer for a maternity cover this Spring.


You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and passion to engage with alumni and supporters, drive philanthropic income growth and make a tangible difference to the student experience at Birkbeck.


As Philanthropy Officer, will be responsible for prioritising the building, and advancement, of relationships within your blended portfolio of around 100 individuals, foundations, and corporates.


Working with prospects, and donors at various stages of the engagement cycle, you will also be confident in developing compelling unrestricted propositions that will help in the solicitation of multiyear annual philanthropic gifts of £10,000+ to support the College's future activities and ambitions.


Within this role, in the Development & Alumni department, you will be one of two other Officers, sharing best practice, and you'll be supported in your day-to-day activities by a Senior Development Manager, to help achieve your income target.


This is an exciting time to join Birkbeck, as the College commemorates its 200th Anniversary and enters the final stages of The World Needs More Birkbeck (TWNMB) campaign.

This role would be ideally suited for an experienced team player who is able to hit the ground running and can demonstrate the ability to achieve income targets.

Remuneration
£37,143 rising to £42,365 per annum. Grade 6 on the College's London Pay Scale. The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.


Terms and Conditions


Fixed-term maternity cover, full time (35 hours a week) contract, with a minimum of two days in the office or at meetings with donors.
