Design Engineer

CAD / FEA Engineer working in breakthrough agricultural / off highway technology

Overview:


Model based simulations through FEA and MBD to predict impact on the structural parts of the vehicle and evaluate the dynamic response of products and optimise their performance.


Support the ongoing simulations as part of product development, liaising with engineering team to improve model build-up, model simulation and model validation methods.


Responsibilities:


  • 3D modelling and FEA analysis.
  • Design optimisation through DoE
  • Realistic behaviour simulation under structural loading conditions and fatigue life prediction
  • Selection of optimum materials based on loading outcomes.
  • Help to drive failure analysis, root cause work, and design of experiments.

The Person:


  • Minimum of 12 months experience gained within a commercial engineering environment ideally automotive or offhighway, working on various vehicle level projects.
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams, plus liaison with various internal as well as external clients.
  • Subsector experience of Powertrain or Hydraulics preferred but this role will expose you to the whole vehicle as well as fast developing new technology including electrification and autonomous systems.
  • Software / systems experience will include CAD 3D, PLM, and FEA. (Flexible on packages as training and conversion courses will be provided as long as you are agile and keen to adapt and learn new skills)
  • Able to respond rapidly in a fast paced environment to technical issues, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
