About the role


Surrey County Council Cultural Services is looking for a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic
Cultural Projects Lead to support the work of the team in putting on an exciting programme of cultural events.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual to contribute to a new ambitious programme that celebrates culture and puts diversity and inclusion at the heart of our celebrations.


This exciting role demands someone who can forge effective working relationships with a range of internal and external partners taking into consideration the needs of our communities across the region as well as creating and establishing new work to deepen and diversify our offer.

You will be supported to work remotely or from a base or bases in the area.

You should also have your own car and a clean driving licence and be prepared to travel within the county.


About you
You will be innovative and highly motivated, with a passion for culture.

You will be experienced in managing, monitoring and delivering a successful programme of events, using your background of arts marketing and promotion experience to do this.

In addition, you will be willing and able to support the work across Surrey and, at times, outside of normal working hours.


  • Experience and understanding of the cultural landscape, with particular reference to stakeholders and funding,
  • Have knowledge and understanding of effective evaluation processes within an arts and culture context,
  • The ability to work as part of a team to deploy and develop staff,
  • Experience of risk management and mitigations,
  • Be creative and innovative, with a collaborative approach, as well as being able to work autonomously,
  • Capability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
