Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1500 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils.

It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.


We are looking for a motivated Compliance Officer with meticulous attention to detail who will take responsibility for completing compliance audits for the HR department.


Reporting to the HR Recruitment & Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officer will focus upon all aspects of compliance and work with the HR Recruitment & Compliance Administrators to ensure that all new employee files are appropriately structured and discharged in accordance with relevant legislation and the schools safer recruitment policy, ensuring information recorded on the schools Single Central Register is accurate and correct.

The Compliance Officer will be required to assist the department with other related compliance projects and tasks, including supporting with the onboarding of new colleagues.


The role would be suited to an experienced Compliance Officer/Administrator with auditing experience, who wants to work in a sector with a strong emphasis on safeguarding.

Personal qualities include confidentiality, professionalism, ability to work autonomously, superb attention to detail and able to work well under pressure, whilst prioritising changing deadlines to meet the needs of the school.

This position is offered as a casual contract.

The Compliance Officer will be required to work variable hours across five days per week from Monday to Friday, normally during term-time.

There will be a requirement for the Compliance Officer to work in the last week of August in preparation for the inset day at the beginning of each academic year and as required, out of term time, to meet the demands of the department.

The shifts are likely to be between 8.00am - 5.30pm with at least a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The shifts will be variable according to the demands of the HR department. A schedule will be provided in advance once your availability has been confirmed.
