Site Agents with experience in water and/or infrastructure to support the delivery of projects within our Core and non-Core planned projects on our framework with Severn Trent Water.

About the Project

Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its £2 billion capital programme for AMP7.

As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs of its customers.

Key Responsibilities
Organise and manage the systems of work for your allocated discipline including management of the relevant supply chain
Be fully conversant with supply chain contract conditions and responsibilities, manage their works and account measurement with the commercial team
Ensure key project and programme risks are identified early, and mitigated where possible, with issues and blockers escalated immediately to the PM
Complete inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works ensuring that all necessary documentation are produced in a timely manner
Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client / designer project team
Manage supervise and mentor site and assistant engineers to ensure high levels of engineering control and appropriate records
Regularly review performance, training and development needs of your direct reports

About You
Civil Engineering related qualification
Site Management Safety Training Scheme SMSTS
Relevant CSCS Card
CPCS Lifting Appointed Person
Temporary Works Coordinator qualification/experience
Other relevant training (preferred includes Appointed Person, relevant lifting training and temporary works co-ordination)
Understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
Knowledge of construction contract law and forms of contract through formal training
Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software)
