Menzies Distribution are looking for an experienced Transport Administrator to join our team, providing a first-class service in Coalville.

The purpose of this role is to support the Operations Manager and you'll be working on behalf of Menzies Distribution and its customers.

What You Really Want To Know

  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Hours of work: 45 hours a week, working 08:3017:00
  • Salary: £27k Per Annum
  • Holiday Allowance: is 28 days inclusive of bank holidays

DEBRIEF OPERATIVE DUTIES

  • Engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that a good impression is maintained at all times.
  • Liaising with the management team ensuring the smooth operation of the admin & transport department.
  • Ensure all inbound/outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation & produce statistics as and when required.
  • Undertake administrative and filing duties to meet needs of the Transport Department.
  • Dealing with customer orders ensuring quality accuracy, delivery timelines, instruction and communication to all depot staff.
  • Maintain a harmonised people and customer focused team working environment always seeking opportunities to improve our stakeholder's experience.
  • Maintain and expand an excellent proactive relationship with existing customers and suppliers.
  • Dealing with customer and supplier enquiries and complaints from investigation through to closure.
  • Ensuring that all work carried out is accounted for and processes for accurate charging and auditable trail are in place and followed.
  • Support and develop the process of Continuous Improvement, challenging working conditions, systems and behaviors to increase performance and employee satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Accounts and Finance teams in order to fully understand Customer and Suppliers requirement and expectations.
  • Maintain data security and integrity in line with business needs.
  • Collation of accurate data to create customer invoices
  • Assisting customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Ensuring contractor paperwork is completed
  • Assist with fleet administration
  • To implement the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring and maintaining a safe working environment at all times
  • Manage drivers compliance Vs Daily targets
  • KPI reporting
  • Agency time sheets
  • All other transport office related duties including POD control and scanning

REQUIREMENTS:


  • An understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations
  • Experience of working in a transport/logistics environment
  • Able to react quickly to information, helping solve any challenges to routes
  • Experience using inhouse transport management systems is an advantage
