We are currently seeking a Project Officer to join our team, working in a small homeless shelter in the heart of Chester.


We are offering daytime shifts from Tuesday to Friday at a rate of £12.50 per hour, 28-hour weekly contract, with the option to take on additional hours if desired.

Chester city centre parking is paid for you.


Our collaboration is with a well-established housing company, overseeing two hostels in Chester, accommodating - 9 clients at each site.

These clients are all adults over the age of 18, and the housing site is mixed-gender.

In this role, you will be:

  • Engaging with clients, creating trust and building up a relationship.
  • Assisting clients with access services, support and arranging appointments.
  • Creating a safe environment where clients can flourish and grow in confidence.
  • Support staff with administrative tasks, duties and safety checks.
  • Report any issues, concerns or comments to staff, and attend daily meetings/handovers.
  • Helping staff with engagement activities, and events.
  • Working alongside external services, such as social workers.
  • Providing advice, support, care and first aid if required.


To excel in this role, you should possess prior experience working in mental health, particularly in assisting individuals coping with severe mental health challenges, including self-harm tendencies.

You will work alongside a supportive team dedicated to providing continuous assistance and training.

The available shifts are as follows:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • We can be flexible with these hours/times


You must have mental health experience for this role, working alongside the homeless and within housing would be great, but not essential.

You must be able to start work within one week to two weeks and have a DBS on the update service.

This position is temporary, commencing immediately.
