Range £39,529 to £46,814


Job Purpose


Reporting to the Senior People Business Partner at Bury Customer Supply, this role will support People activities at Bury Customer Supply.

Your main stakeholders will include the sites management team, team leaders and employees across Bury Customer Supply (total headcount of 180), collaborating closely with other support functions.


You will be an integral part of the People team, providing comprehensive guidance, advice and support to Line Leaders on a broad range of People process including absence management and employee relations matters.


Your Core Accountabilities

  • Provide responsive and highquality support and advice to all Line Leaders and employees
  • Coach Line Leaders to make balanced decisions by advising on issues from disciplinary & grievance to performance management and occupational health
  • Effectively manage all assigned employee relations cases in a timely/professional manner
  • Enable Line Leaders to manage people processes more independently
  • Support Line Leaders to more effectively manage, lead & develop their teams
  • Provide employee advice on workplace issues
  • Work closely with the centralised shared service centre and Centres of excellence
  • Support diversity, inclusion and engagement initiatives across the site.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with local Trade Union representatives
  • Provide general day to day HR support on operational issues

Critical Skills, Knowledge and Competencies

  • Previous experience of operating as a People Advisor, ideally within a manufacturing or supply chain organisation
  • Excellent knowledge of Employment Law & best practice
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable/flexible/positive/proactive
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management
  • Level 3 CIPD or equivalent professional HR qualification (desirable)
  • Used to delivering generalist People services in a shared services environment (desirable)
