Why this role is important to us


We are looking for a Product Designer with substantial experience in designing native mobile apps and a passion for great design, to help us accelerate our growth as we move towards an 'App-first' strategy for our new product.

You'll focus on both the user experience and visual design of our native iOS and Android app features.

You will also play an integral role in our wider product design community where you will be the resident champion for intuitive app design.

Through showcasing your work, peer reviews, and collaborative design you will help educate and elevate the design standard across the team to ensure consistent quality of design across all features we produce.

To truly become a best in class app-first product, we need grow the skillset within our product experience team.

Through this role we are seeking to bring expertise into the business and for this person to help cultivate a culture and high standard for how we design mobile app at Experian going forward.


Work that matters - What you'll be doing

  • Working in all phases of design from research through ideation, wireframing, visual design and prototyping.
  • Responsible for the daytoday refinement and production of devready designs for the App iOs and Android engineering squads
  • Working closely with colleagues in design, product management and engineering
  • Collaborating with centralised design team including development and maintenance of the App specific elements within our design system, working with our inhouse UX writing to produce compliant and consistent UX copy, and liaising with our user research teams to design test which validate our solutions and build confidence in our product designs.
  • Acting as an SME for the App eco system for other designers within Experian Consumer Services supporting them to produce designs for the app
  • Advocates App best practice across the Product and Design communities

What you'll bring to the role & Experian

  • Substantial experience in designing amazing mobile app experiences across iOS and Android apps.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, best practice and emerging trends within app product design.
  • Previous examples of where you have delivered impact within a financial or other regulated B2C product.
  • Previous examples of where you have helped to develop the standard of app design across a wider team.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of owning each stage of product design process.
  • Experience in diagramming, design, and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch etc.
