An exciting full-time vacancy has arisen for a Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technologist (TAPT)


We are looking for an individual who is committed to team working with a drive to achieve thoroughness and accuracy and an appetite for continued personal development.

No previous experience is required. Full in-house training and supervision will be given.


As a Trainee APT you will be expected to assist with the care and handling of deceased patients and to meet face to face with bereaved relatives.


You will be expected to train in all aspects of Mortuary work, including administration duties, cleaning, disinfections and after a suitable period of training assist with post mortem examinations.

You will be expected to help maintain the department including moving and handling of deceased to maintain suitable capacity.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.
