We are looking for someone to join our team.

To maintain the Garden Centre and Restaurant to a good state of repair in line with current legislation and following all Health and Safety Guidelines and Fire Safety Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Maintenance

• Be familiar/ competent in the operation of hand tools.
• Competent at Painting & Decorating
• To undertake repairs within your competency.
• To undertake minor building or carpentry works within your competency as agreed with the Centre Manager.
• Maintaining all green areas, including lawns, hedges, borders, pathways, trees and any further landscaping and litterpicking.

Utility Checks

• Will be trained in boiler care, maintenance, emptying ash and dust containers and monitoring fuel. This will be done weekly and checked during every shift. This also includes all additional hired in equipment. Training will be provided.
• Monitoring and replacement of filters within pump container. Monitoring and replacement of filters within each AHU on site. Training will be provided.
• Testing outflow and monitoring/recording STP checks. Training will be provided.

Fire Safety/Checks

• Each Month
• Checking of all fire extinguishers are in place and emergency lighting testing.
• Check fire equipment as required by legislation.

Other Duties

• Where there are no other maintenance responsibilities to complete, to report to the Centre Manager to undertake any other reasonable duties requested.
• Reporting accidents, injuries, dangerous occurrences, near misses, hazards and risks to senior management whose responsibility it is to act upon such information to reduce the risk of accidents.
• To ensure compliance with Statutory and Company regulations concerning hygiene, health and safety of staff/customers, food and equipment.

You will work 20 hours per week, weekdays only - not weekends.

Experience in Landscaping/Maintenance. Forklift license is preferable but not essential.
