If so, your role as a talented and motivated Health & Safety Officer within the busy City Parks service may be of interest to you.
About the role:
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will have a key role in making sure everyone abides by the health and safety policy put in place by the council.
You will identify, create and deliver Health & Safety training to staff in City Parks to improve safety and the services we deliver to residents and visitors to the city.
This is a time of real change for City Environmental Management - a modernisation programme is underway, our renewed focus on learning and development will play a key role in making a real and sustainable difference to our organisation.
You will have the skills and ability to work with a range of individual employees to make sure they understand the importance of Health and Safety.
You will use your communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with Trade Unions and colleagues within City Environmental Management, across the wider organisation and with external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for analysing and identifying health and safety issues within the City Parks service and working with management and operational teams to implement appropriate solutions through training, process change and compliance.
You will use your knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and best practice to ensure action is targeted where it is most needed.
The successful Health and Safety Officer will have:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar role

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
