Band: 6 - £37,162 to £44,629 per annum (Includes High-Cost Area Supplements - HCAS)


Hours:
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Join the NHS hospital team at Ashford and St Peter's NHS Foundation Trust as a Fire Safety Advisor. This critical role involves working closely with the Fire Safety Manager to address fire-related matters across all Trust properties.

Your responsibilities will encompass providing technical and general fire safety advice, conducting detailed fire risk assessments, and delivering fire safety training within the Trust.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Regulatory:


  • Ensure maintenance of fire prevention and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health documents and statutory requirements.
  • Provide advice on structural fire protection for existing and new buildings.
  • Undertake fire risk assessments across Trust premises and implement prioritized action plans.

Qualifications and Training:


  • Degree in Fire Engineering/Engineering Science or equivalent.
  • Certificate in training practice or extensive training delivery experience.
  • Membership of professional organizations (e.g., Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute of Fire Prevention Officers).

Experience:


  • Experience and knowledge in conducting fire risk assessments.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training courses.
  • Crossorganizational collaboration experience to improve standards.

Knowledge:


  • Familiarity with NHS Constitution, Trust vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Indepth knowledge of Firecode, Health Building Notes, Building Regulations Approved Document B (fire safety).
  • Expertise in fire safety, risk management, legislation, and codes of practice.
