We have an exciting opportunity to join our Student Experience & Engagement Department as a Graduate Advisor on a fixed term (until 31/07/2023), full time (37 hours per week) basis.
You will be based at UCEN Manchester and be part of the wider Greater Manchester Higher network. GM Higher is one of 29 UniConnect Partnerships across England.

UniConnect is funded by the Office for Students and involves universities, colleges and other partners working together to offer activities, advice and information on the benefits and realities of going to university or college.

The programme was set up in 2017 to support the government's social mobility goals to increase the number of young people from underrepresented groups going into higher education.


As Graduate Advisor you will be responsible to support target learners in schools and colleges to raise increase their awareness of and readiness of Higher Education.

To be a role model for pupil in the area, advocating the benefits of Higher Education.

In order to do this, you will need:

  • Higher Education qualification (such as a degree, HND or Foundation Degree)
  • Knowledge of the routes into Higher Education.
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to school or college pupils.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience of working with and making presentations to young people.
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of enquiries and requests from within an organisation and outside
