M25 J10 / A3 Wisley Interchange Project and you'll be part of our legacy.


The purpose of the
Environmental Sustainability Advisor is to help manage and ensure that the M25 J10 / A3 Wisley Interchange Project complies with all environmental legislation, consents, objectives, targets and other environmental commitments and planning requirements.

To provide timely environmental sustainability management/assistance, advice, guidance and training to Project Staff. Resolution of on-site difficulties and cascade of Company, Client and legislative requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Promote a positive environmental culture through proactive engagement and communications with project teams, including the supply chain.
  • Assist with the production, reviews and updates of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Opportunities and Risk Assessment, Sustainability Action Plan, Low Carbon Plan and specialist procedures as appropriate;
  • Coordinate and undertake regular Site inspections with the environmental and construction teams to monitor compliance with the environmental licenses/consents for the works and environmental plans and procedures; implement followup corrective actions to ensure compliance with UK regulations and legislation;
  • Undertake Environmental compliance evaluations, inspections and audits at prescribed intervals record outputs and liaise with site management to ensure actions are completed.
  • Assist in investigating environmental incidents and near miss events and share lessons learned.
  • Collate and report environmental data for project environmental KPI's.
  • Assisting with the development of emergency and safety procedures and training of staff in the use and disposal of spillage control equipment, as required;

Who we're looking for
For this role, you will need the following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Environmental Degree or related discipline (preferred) or NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or IEMA Certificate
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence
  • Strong understanding of environmental management in a construction environment
  • Takes ownership and accountability for tasks and sees through to successful completion
  • Experience of chairing meetings, both with the workforce and supply chain
  • Strong and effective communication skills to deliver key environmental messages

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Strong understanding and experience of the construction and civil engineering process, including constraints and requirements of specialist heavycivils operations (e.g. piling, earthworks, lifting, pavement, drainage etc.)
  • Investigation (root cause analysis) techniques for incident investigation
  • Experience in managing others and line management
  • Ability to seek out and deliver innovative methods of training and instruction, together with adaptive styles of communication with the workforce and staff alike
