This is a great opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator to join the newly constructed Hammersmith & Fulham's Youth Zone, named "WEST" by local young people, which is due to be completed at the end of 2023.

Salary:
£26,000-29,000 (dependent upon experience)

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
We give 8-19 year-olds, (and up to 25 for young people with additional needs) affordable access to a broad range of sport, arts and employability services, designed to empower them to lead healthier, positive and more active lives - raising their aspirations for themselves and their community.
Construction of Hammersmith & Fulham's Youth Zone, named "WEST" by local young people, is due to be completed at the end of 2023 and open in spring 2024 as the fourth OnSide Youth Zone in London.
The Volunteer Coordinator holds overall responsibility for the Youth Zone's volunteer strategy for universal and open access provision including, recruiting, training, and supporting them to work alongside and be managed by the staff team.
You will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of volunteers as well as training and supporting the team to best manage and values volunteers.
Once the Youth Zone is open your place of work will be there.In the months prior to the Youth Zone opening (which is estimated to be at the end of 2023) you will be contracted to work in an office opposite the Youth Zone's site in Scale Space, White City.
- Supported the Youth Zone to achieve 1500 visits by young people a week by ensuring volunteers play a key role in service delivery
- Collaborated with the delivery and operational team to ensure volunteer opportunities are identified, created and established
- Put in place a robust volunteer recruitment pathway
- Created a 'culture of volunteering' and ensured the critical role of volunteer is understood and valued across the whole organisation
- Supported each member of the operation and delivery team to line manager between 24 volunteers each, providing between 6 and 30 hours of volunteering a week.
- Put in place a reward and recognition scheme that celebrates volunteers' successes
About You
We are looking for an individual who has experience of volunteer management, including developing and supporting a wide range of volunteering opportunities and an understanding of volunteers' motivations and the benefits they can bring to an organisation
You will have experience of:
- Developing and delivering a variety of training to small and large groups
- Managing successful relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners and confident in providing advice and guidance to others around policy, procedure and good practice
