Description

The Academic Lead for Clinical Skills will be part of the MBChB Teaching and Learning Academic Team, supporting the senior leadership team in ensuring delivery of the MBChB programme is to the highest standard.

The applicant should have a good working knowledge of the Manchester MBChB programme. They will work closely with the Associate Programme Directors for Teaching and Learning and the Academic Year Leads.

The Academic Lead for Clinical Skills will primarily be responsible for leading, co-ordinating and implementing the clinical skills requirements for all five years of MBChB programme, with a particular focus on years 3-5 when students are wholly immersed in clinical environments.

They will be a key member of the CCA emendation groups with the assessment team.

They will work to enhance the experience for students by improving the quality of clinical skills teaching and implementation of good practice.


They are expected to be a practicing physician/surgeon with a primary medical qualification on the specialist register with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the speciality.

They will have evidence of leadership qualities with a track record of involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education.
