About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Research Practitioner to join our team at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU).
The post holder will be a key member of the research delivery team providing research support and its associated clinical care for participants and patients enrolling in a variety of research studies and projects.
They will ensure data collection is to its highest standards, facilitating the production of good quality research with a commitment to the patient's safety and wellbeing.
You will be expected to participate fully in your personal and professional development and review progress in order to achieve the knowledge and skills as identified in the competency framework and competencies outlined for this post.
About You
Applicants should have good IT skills with a demonstrable ability to utilise standard programmes such as Excel and Word and the aptitude to learn to use bespoke study databases for data entry.

- An ability to work accurately to procedures and protocols.
- An ability to pay attention to detail and keep comprehensive records.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to develop and undertake job related training.
Having knowledge and experience of providing clinical care to patients with respiratory disorders and/or clinical research experience would both be desirable attributes for this post.
About the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit
The Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU) is a Clinical Trials Unit which specialises in the design, delivery and administration of trials across the scope of Respiratory Medicine.
We run national and international trials related to our own academic areas, as well as supporting trials led by other teams.
Our scope of work includes clinical trials at all phases, including translational studies, phase II discovery studies and multicentre definitive randomised trials.
