temporary, part-time Laboratory Technician role that would be perfect for you.


Job description

  • Supporting work focusing on the reception and processing of mouse tissues, including microscopy acquisition and analysis as well as a variety of techniques supporting various research projects of the group.
  • Tissue preparation and processing '¢ Paraffin embedding
  • Microtome sectioning (cryosection is a plus)
  • Knowledge of tissue staining, for example, H&E, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), trichrome, picrosirius red
  • Willingness to learn and establish other stainings in the department
  • Maintain a stock of histologic solutions and consumables
  • Prepare staining solutions and reagents
  • Be responsible for keeping a clean equipment and working area
  • Perform microscopic analysis of the samples
  • Keep good records, electronic and paper based

Hours: 29hours per week, variable


Pay:
You will be paid £12.73p/h
