DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Control:
data management and analysis

  • Constantly optimize the databases in use for an accurate data analysis and efficient reporting with the purpose of continuous improvement, leading to LIMS design.
  • Main responsible for the observation of trends and support to the other departments in decisionmaking processes for improving procedures and methods. Attendance to dedicated meetings is required.
  • Coordinating the rest of the Quality team in the correlation between physical chemical, microbiological and sensory results; work on conclusions and report results back to the relevant Production and Logistics teams.
  • Revision of the Minimum Sampling Plan (physicalchemical and microbiological) depending on Production necessities and supervising its fulfilment in the calculation of departmental KPIs.
  • Supervise the preparation of all QC reports (daily, weekly and monthly physicalchemical and microbiological reports) by the Lab and Senior Lab Techniciansin a timely manner and at high level of accuracy.
  • Support the R&D Technical Brewing manager in the data analysis of all Contract Brewery results.

Quality Assurance:

calibration, validation, verification and training:

  • Ensure that all Lab-owned equipment is performing at its best by managing all aspects of calibration (internal and external), maintenance, validation and verification.
  • Create and maintain the Quality Training programme across Production, scheduling and providing training sessions for new starters and regular refreshers. Support the Senior Lab Technician (lab), Packaging Supervisors (Pack) and Senior Brewers (Brewing)during the training process.
  • Creation and maintenance of Quality Training records integrated in all Production's departments Training plans.
  • Perform regular intra
- and interdepartmental audits of all instruments and their use/maintenance.

  • Produce monthly reports of the Quality audits, calibration and validation plan, or others if asked.
Lab Supervision

  • Good lab practice and safety: ensuring that all GLPs are respected, and the lab safety iskept at the highest standard.
  • Coordinate the reporting of any safety concern through the appropriate channels to the SHE-Compliance dept and the Quality manager.
  • Create checklists and systems to ensure that the guidelines on the Lab Safety planare respected.
  • Provide the Lab Safety Plan training to all new starters.
  • Educate and maintain high levels of discipline through playful and creative ways.
  • Stock and

Supply Management:

coordinate with the team to ensure that all requiredresources to perform the routine tasks are available, ordering materials and equipmentwhen needed, supporting the Quality Manager in the invoice revision and approval.


  • Responsible for Lab stock and inventory: maintenance of incoming inspectionplan and Lab audits, supervising the rest of the team in the accomplishment ofthe necessary tasks (stock counting, equipment validation and verification etc.)
  • Establishing relationships with suppliers and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Periodical review of Controlled Documents; be an innovative individual in thecommunication of procedures and find new ways to guarantee standardisation and thespread of knowledge in an interactive manner.
  • Support every new starter during the full induction plan, reporting any action needed tothe Quality Manager and organising training whenever required for new or existing staff.
  • Empower the rest of the team by proposing projects and implementations of procedures;leading the change.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager in the lab development and growth and support allteam members in the commissioning of new equipment.
Root Cause Analysis and Complaint procedure

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on disruptive occurrences, collaborating with otherdepartments to implement corrective actions and prevent downtime or products out ofspecification.
  • Collaborate with the SHE-Compliance Manager in the Quality investigation of complaints:responsible for the coordination between Warehouse, Lab and Compliance for theresolution of Quality complaints in the shortest possible time.
This role profile will developand change in line with business needs.

  • Accountable for the recording of Abnormality Reports and instrument failures in the laband implementation of corrective actions.

Other skills:

  • Quality supervisors must be able to cover all laboratory tasks at a high level in all areas(physical chemical, microbiological and sensory). Active participation in the lab is requiredto support all lab technicians in case of need.
  • People management assistance to the Quality Manager (My Review meetings, rotas,Return to Work forms).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Expected
Experience in a Brewery Lab role or Quality related position.

Master's degree in Brewing Science, Biology, Chemistry or another relevant field.

Post-graduate experience in both physical-chemical and microbiological techniques.

Deep understanding of the brewing and alcoholic beverages processes, including physical chemical reactions and microbiology of food and beverage organisms, especially yeast


Desirable
Proven leadership and management skills with at least 1-year experience in a supervisory or coordination position.

Project management skills

Coding skills (R, Python or VBA)

IBD GCB or equivalent formal education in the Brewing industry.

Advanced equipment experience:
i.e., GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, RT-PCR, Maldi-TOF.
