Position overview:

The Front End Team Leader is responsible for the day to day leadership of an effective and committed team. Focused on maintaining maximum safety, quality, and production standards.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Ensure the team always follow the Safety Standards and Rules, operating machines with care and follow the proper use of working clothes, footwear and personal protective equipment.
  • Complete Safety Checks and address any issues with the team.
  • Set and communicate to the team the Area Plan of Activities for the day.
  • Monitor and communicate progress and support the team to deliver the targets for the day.
  • Communicate issues to the team including any quality, safety and customer related issues, risks and problems.
  • Check the Quality of Products leaving the process area, communicate to the team any issues and ensure quality defects are contained and resolved.
  • Prepare Production Reports and keep the area Information Boards up to date,
  • Lead the team in Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Support training and keep training records up to date.
  • Support the writing and training of area procedures and work instructions.
  • Lead the team in setting and meeting high standards for daily housekeeping and tools/spares organisation
  • People management responsibilities, including performance management, engagement activities, basic HR processes, return to work meetings, etc.
  • Leading team briefs and communicating daily and monthly KPIs to the teams.

Experience and skills required:


  • Previous experience of leading people in a manufacturing/industrial/warehouse industry
  • Practical problem solver.
  • Able to interpret numerical data.
  • Attention to detail, including the ability to spot defects/mistakes.
  • Ability to follow and set up new processes.
  • Sound communication skills, ability to clearly explain processes.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
