Specialist Outreach Worker

We have an excellent opportunity for an Specialist Outreach Worker working for one of the UK's leading homelessness charities.

The role will be focused on working with hard to engage street homeless clients in a central London borough, engaging with them,and referring into to services including day centres and a temporary accommodation service which offers assessment and move-on support into services able which provide longer term targeted support.

Responsibilities Include:

Caseworking a caseload of clients
Providing advice on services available to homeless clients
Conducting comprehensive assessment of clients support needs
Liaising with a range of specialist agencies on clients behalf and providing follow up appointments for homeless clients
Preventing homeless clients engaging in street activity e.g. street drinking
Experience of conducting homelessness assessment
Knowledge of services to refer to within the local area
Previous experience of street outreach work with homeless clients is desirable
A positive and resilient approach to working with difficult to engage and complex homeless clients
An enhanced DBS check issued within the last 12 months or registered to the online update service
Ability to work unsociable hours, 23 early morning (6am) starts a week
